Forgive My Fins

Forgive My Fins - Tera Lynn Childs This is truly a wonderful mermaid story. Lily Sanderson is not your average girl. She is a mermaid and the daughter of the Thalassinian princess heir to the throne. It is almost her eighthteeth birthday in which she needed to be bonded by in order to secure the royal throne.Lily is head over heels for Brody, the schools hot jock. She daydreams about him all day. Quince her annoying neighbor has always bothered her. He always seems to be at the wrong place, wrong time for her. Always ruining her moments with Brody. Quince convinces Lily that he will help her see Brody in private so she can confess her love for him. Instead of Brody showing up, Quince does. He kisses her without realizing what he has done. He has bonded with Lily. Lily not wanting to be bonded with Quince in the first place, goes back to her kingdom demanding her father grant a separation. Her fathers refuses her wanting to make sure that this is exactly what she wants. He forces them to really look at their relationship. The one thing I love about this, is the repectfulness toward a good bond. I love how her father respected the bond and did not grant the separation unless this is want she truly wanted. The Thalassinian people believe that the bond is sacred between the merpeople and should be honored as such.So many people today get married only to find one mistake in the other person and want to leave. Just like a bond in Forgive My Fins, you must find ways to work things out. You need to see things through the other person eyes before passing judgement. Not everything is perfect with Lily and Quince. Things go wrong all the time. Lily didn't want to see past Quince's annoynesses, so she couldn't tell how much she really loved him until the very end. This book was beautiful written and I love the story. I love the drama, the plot, the realness of the character's feelings. This book was magical. Greatly inspiring and a defiant good read.
