Right of Way

Right of Way - Lauren Barnholdt Another summer read on my pile, beautiful and moving, this story is great!1. Realistic. The realism of family problems and dealing with your parents who are the ones who have the problem is the best part. Most teens have to carry such a large load that is not meant for them to carry. I loved how well this part of the story is told to the reader. Piece by piece, uncovering every dark secret.2. Love. In the midst of the craziness, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Love and friendship. And this girl really needed that. She needed that help and guidance. I like that there is hope when all seem is lost.3. Family. Finally a good sets of parents or rather should I say mom. I love it when parents are involved. They don’t judge but just help.4. Truth. Facing the truth is hard. And making the decision to ask for help because of what your parents do is harder. In the end, Peyton learn a hard lesson.5. Road trip. When you are running away, why not a road trip? It gives you time to think and the plan out exactly what do. Though, life throws you curve balls so nothing ever ends up how you wanted it to be, still, you learn a lot.My only gripe is that it sort of ended incomplete. Even though Peyton faced what she needed to do, there are still a lot of unanswered questions between Jace and Peyton.Overall, Right Of Way is a great book. It’s a cute summer read that gives you exactly what you need. A road trip, a cute boy and love that is awesome.
