Books With Bite

My name is Savannah and I’m the founder Books With Bite.  Books have always found a way to my heart with great literature and adventure. Though I may not be a teen, I wish I could be!

Fade (The Ragnarok Prophesies)

Fade - A.K. Morgen I decided to pick up this book being that I haven’t read a were or shifter story in a while. I read it in just a few hours and really enjoyed the concept of the story.Plot. The plot opens with much sadness and grief. I wasn’t expecting so much emotions in the first few chapters and found myself quite interested in where the story will lead. It gives the reader plenty of time to divulge every single part of the story. Small pieces of clues were drop here and there and just a short way in the book I figure out the gist of the story.Love. I did have a problem with this part. First off, it reminded me too much of Edward and Bella. This girl trying to prove her strength and the guy always keeping her out of loop, treating her like glass. I also did not like the fact that there was no romance but a intsa-love that had no foundation what so ever. How can you fall in love with someone just because your drawn to them?Too much emotion. While I’m all for showing emotion and giving the reader the experience of what is going on with characters, I felt like the grief part was a little overdone. I mean, I get it, She sad. But to drag it on through the entire book left me a little tired. What I did enjoy is the history that these characters carried. If you can get past the angst, the questioning looks, etc you see that the main characters have a long road a head of them. Finally at the end of the book, I really like how the story is coming together. Every character plays an important role in Arianna and Dace’s life.Overall, this is a good book. It’s not quite what I wanted but it made out to be okay. By solely fixating on emotions, I felt like this book move too slow. Arianna is held back a lot. It’s possible that this story could be better in the sequel, and I will take a chance on reading it to see how the characters will grow.
